There is much discussion in the academic literature over the importance of an entrepreneurial spirit. We can foster an entrepreneurial spirit in the classroom by giving students a chance to be creative. There are lots of ways to promote creativity in the classroom. Creativity can occur in thought and action. Creativity can occur with crayons and pencils and paints and paper. Creativity can occur with a phone, or tablet, or laptop, or desktop. Creativity can occur with an app or a piece of software. If we give students tools and some time to explore those tools, with and without direction, then we are opening the door to creativity.
